The Lexicon: Anticipation

Happy Monday. Did you have a good weekend? Even though it always goes quickly, sometimes a little Monday recap helps make the weekend-ness linger. So tell me, what lovely things did you do?

The weather this weekend in Chicago was unreal. High 80's, all sun. It felt like summer. This last weekend was one of my last in the city for five whole weeks, so I am especially glad it was fun. On Friday, I braved NATO and went to the Art Institute. I visited all my favorite paintings and sketches and made a new discovery in the basement: miniature rooms! There are dozens of teeny tiny rooms with the most incredible detail. Have you ever seen them? How have I missed them all these years?! Next I met up with Jenny for happy hour here on the top deck and then saw Five Year Engagement. The movie was just...okay. I went to Foster Beach for some sun soaking and alone time Saturday morning and then found a crazy estate sale with my friend Nicki (more on that later!). Saturday evening brought Mexican food and margaritas and a 31st birthday celebration. Sunday started off right with church and kept getting better with brunch, a walk in Andersonville, a croque monsieur at a new French bar, some Tar-jay exploring, and finally a Mary Kay facial. Whew! Busy but excellent.

Today I bring you a new feature: The Lexicon. Here's a word and images that, to me, feel like the word. Like I said, this week begins a full schedule of travel for Memorial Day, graduations, birthdays, weddings, etc. so I thought a good word to begin with might be: anticipation. I hope you enjoy!
